At first glance you might be a bit overwhelmed by Tonka, a champion Great Dane. He is, for lack of better words – HUGE! But, within his massive frame is one of the warmest hearts and wonderful personalities. I just love him!

I recently completed and delivered this Original Pet Portrait of “Ling Ling” – who was competing in the Brookside event in Pasadena earlier this Summer and is currently the #3 Pug in the United states.

The newest Original Pet Portrait is of “Leila” – Ch. Surf City – a Wiemaraner.

I met Leila and her family at the Brookside event earlier this Summer and instantly fell in love with her. Not only is she so beautiful, she is absolutley one of the sweetest Wiemaraners I have ever met. I am proud to have had the opportunity to paint her portrait.

Here is what Leila’s parents had to say:

Dear Sarah,

Just a note to let you know Brad was blown away ! You really captured her personality not only in the water color, but the cards are amazing ! We as her parents can read her expression on her face. As I said to you earlier on the phone I can hardly wait to send them out.

Thank you so much for creating this memory of Leila as I wished I had done this with our last Weim. You are Truly very gifted not only in your Craft but what you see in the eyes of you subject and family.

This is Brandy. A beautiful Dacshund that I met at the Wags and Whiskers event earlier this Summer.

Milo

The newest Original Pet Portrait is of Milo – a Siberian Husky.

After delivering the painting I recieved an e-mail from Iris Yang.

It’s really an overwhelming feeling when I saw Milo’s portrait. I can’t describe how I’d like to thank Sarah, she is such a wonderful artist…she caught Milo’s best quality (when he opens his mouth a little and smiles, he is so cute) and gives me somehting to be proud of for a long time.

I showed the portrait to my neighbors in our apartment and also some old friends in Taiwan that know Milo well, everyone just loves the portrait. I can’t wait to order some more note cards to send to my friends and family.

I really enjoyed painting the Pet Portrait of Murphy. Although I never met him personally, I often found myself smiling as I was painting from the photograph sent to me.

Nicky & Belle

Nicky and Belle are the subjects of my most recent Original Pet Portrait.

When I arrived at their home, I was warmly greeted by Nicky, a beautiful Beagle. His eyes were the most incredible butterscotch and his markings just as stunning. Then along came Belle, a sweet and lovely beagle.

Nicky’s spunky playfulness tempered by Belle’s maturity were a joy to observe and I knew I would have a great time capturing their unique features and personalities.
